Ruthie Nicklaus

 

Ruthie Nicklaus has been making artwork out of combined materials since childhood. She began working with fabric as an artistic medium while studying Fine Arts at Western Washington University. Her BFA body of work was a collection of interactive, person-sized “rooms” with fabric walls and softly stitched interiors.

After graduating, she worked at a tailoring shop in order to acquire professional sewing skills, and fell even more in love with textiles and making clothing. Designing and creating clothing and costumes satisfied her desire for her work to be practical, personal, part performance, and completely interactive and collaborative.

Classic vintage, flattering, tailored looks, old-fashioned buttons and trims, and cute, quality fabrics always inspire her.

Ruthie is  very glad to offer her clothing designs to the Gossamer experience!
